On the night of September 8, a woman who was staying and working in An Binh commune, Nam Sach district (Hai Duong) jumped into Kinh Thay river to commit suicide and was fortunately saved by the police.
At around 10:00 p.m. on September 8, An Binh Commune Police and the security and order team at An Dong village received a report that Ms. GSH (born in 2003) had jumped into Kinh Thay River flowing through An Dong village to commit suicide.
The authorities immediately contacted the Ba Keo working group of the Waterway Traffic Police Team, Traffic Police Department (Hai Duong Provincial Police) to support and coordinate the search for Ms. H.
Due to the high water level, strong currents, and the time of night, the search was difficult. After more than 1 hour of searching, at 11:15 p.m., Ms. H. was found unconscious about 1.5 km from where she jumped into the river to commit suicide.
Ms. H. was successfully treated and taken to the Nam Sach District Medical Center for emergency treatment. By the morning of September 9, Ms. H. was discharged from the hospital and in stable health.
An Binh Commune Police and members of the Ba Keo working group who participated in the rescue of Ms. H. visited, encouraged, and advised Ms. H. and her husband to maintain their happiness and not let similar conflicts happen.
Ms. H. is a seasonal worker from Muong Khuong district (Lao Cai) who is staying in An Binh commune. On the evening of September 8, after a party with her co-workers, Ms. H. showed signs of being drunk, had a conflict with her husband, and then committed suicide by going to the river.
