Announcement of results of the Environmental Protection Assessment Index

For the second consecutive time, Da Nang ranked first among 63 provinces and cities nationwide in implementing the Environmental Protection Results Assessment Index.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has just issued a Decision approving and announcing the results of the implementation of the 2022 Environmental Protection Performance Assessment Index of provinces and centrally-run cities (PEPI 2022).

Accordingly, the 5 provinces and cities with the highest total scores of the Index are Da Nang (73.33), Bac Kan (70.29), Lang Son (65.62), Bac Ninh (65.29) and Tien Giang (65.22). With this result, Da Nang city ranked first for the second consecutive time among 63 provinces and cities nationwide in implementing the Index to assess environmental protection results.

The 5 provinces and cities with the lowest total index scores are Bac Lieu (47.04), Dak Lak (49.05), Yen Bai (49.76), Vinh Phuc (50.12) and Binh Thuan (51.63).

The PEPI 2022 index aims to assess the implementation results of environmental protection goals and tasks and the level of people's satisfaction with the quality of the living environment of provinces and centrally run cities.

Based on the results of the implementation of the PEPI Index 2022, the Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities shall organize dissemination and solutions to promote and enhance the effectiveness of environmental protection work, and improve the results of the implementation of the PEPI Index for the following years.
