Loc Phuc Company put the victims in a 52-seat vehicle, covered with curtains. Then, the vehicle took everyone to a “ghost project” in Trang Bom District (Dong Nai) and lured the victims into a trap.

Dong Nai police caught a company red-handed bringing customers to a "ghost project"

Regarding the real estate company's 'chicken herding' trick that was recently raided by the police, Dong Nai Province Police are still investigating signs of fraud and property appropriation and expanding other signs of crime.

Previously, Dong Nai Provincial Police received a report from a resident of Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City accusing Loc Phuc Company located in Ward 2, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City, with Nguyen Van An (27 years old) as General Director, of committing fraud by organizing "virtual" real estate trading floors in Dong Nai.

As one of the victims, Ms. Mai (living in District 8, Ho Chi Minh City) said that she wanted to buy a house for about 1 billion VND, so she went to Cho Tot to search. After seeing some satisfactory houses with clear prices, Ms. Mai contacted Loc Phuc Company to find out more.

Ms. Mai was sent some more pictures of the house by an employee named Ly, and asked to be present at the location the next day to show her the house. Seeing that Ms. Mai did not seem to agree, the company employee continued to entice her by saying that if she just showed up to see the house, whether she bought it or not, the company promised to give her more gifts.

The next day, upon arriving at the meeting point, Ms. Mai was taken by the company to a 52-seat bus, covered with curtains, and told by the staff to go see a house in District 7. However, when she saw that the bus had been running for a long time but had not yet arrived, Ms. Mai wondered and was told by the staff that it was due to traffic jams. At the same time, the staff continuously organized lucky draw games in the bus to distract Ms. Mai and the other victims from paying attention to the movement of the bus.

When she arrived, Ms. Mai was shocked to learn that she had been taken by the real estate company to Trang Bom District (Dong Nai). At this time, she realized that she had been “herded” into an empty lot with tents set up like an event.

“I was worried and anxious, and tried every way to ask them to let me go home to take care of family matters, but they refused. They said that if I wanted to see the house, I had to put down a deposit because there were many people who were looking at that house. In the afternoon, the company would show me the house papers and ask me to put down a deposit of 15 million, only my name and the amount, no receipt,” Ms. Mai recounted.

Similarly, Ms. Thanh and her husband (living in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) were also lured into a trap by company employees. According to Ms. Thanh, her family had saved up some money for many years and wanted to buy a cheap house in Tan Binh District to settle down. She went to Cho Tot to "hunt" for a nice, cheap house and found a satisfactory one from Loc Phuc Company.

After that, Thanh's family contacted to see the house and an employee claiming to be from the company sent her husband some more pictures of the house they wanted to buy. This employee also made an appointment to meet Thanh and her husband the next day to take them to see the house.

Police force searched Loc Phuc Company headquarters

The next step was to get on a 52-seat bus to Trang Bom, as Ms. Mai had mentioned above. Suspicious, Ms. Thanh asked some people around (customers hired by the company) and these people all said they were not scammed. These people even confirmed that they had earned a lot of money when buying the previous project of Loc Phuc Company.

At the same time, the company's employees continuously urged Ms. Thanh and her husband to quickly transfer 100 million VND to receive a discount voucher, with the promise that if they did not buy the company, they would introduce it to someone else and make 3 times the profit. Seeing Ms. Thanh hesitate, the employees continuously shouted, pressuring the couple to quickly put down the deposit.

“I was suspicious, but there were too many employees, they kept shouting, and the people next to them also said it was okay, just do it. They forced me to do it,” Ms. Thanh recalled.

When Loc Phuc Company organized an event to open a "trading floor", transporting dozens of customers from other places to the "ghost project" in An Vien commune, Trang Bom district, hundreds of police officers from Dong Nai Provincial Police raided and caught them red-handed.

The police invited Nguyen Van An - General Director and 185 related people, including 122 employees, 20 people hired to pretend to be customers competing to buy the project and 43 customers who were victims, to the headquarters for questioning.

Lieutenant Colonel Vo Nhat Hong Phuc, Head of the Provincial Police Department's Criminal Police Department and Head of the Investigation Team, said that initial investigations revealed that the company earned about VND20 billion in profit each month. Up to now, this figure could be up to hundreds of billions of VND.

Currently, Dong Nai Provincial Police call on customers who are victims of Loc Phuc Company to promptly report to the authorities to investigate and expand all illegal activities and handle them according to the law.
