A 15-year-old girl was removing a bunch of hydrogen balloons for decoration when the balloons exploded, causing burns to her face and arms.
Doctors at Tuyen Quang General Hospital reported on May 24 that the patient was brought to the emergency room with burns on his face, 1/3 of his lower arms on both sides; blisters on both forearms, skin ulcers, pain, and was diagnosed with second and third degree burns (about 7% area).
Doctor Quang Van Hai, Deputy Head of the Orthopedic Trauma Department, said that hydrogen-filled balloons are very dangerous, but people are subjective when using them. Hydrogen gas is light and has a small molecular structure, so when pumped into a balloon, it penetrates very quickly and can explode without a source of fire. For example, the balloon coming into contact with a light bulb or people holding the balloon in the sun can also cause this object to explode.

Because the ball is held very close, accidents often cause hair to burn, face burns, and blindness for the user. Although the burns are not deep, they often occur in areas such as the head, face, neck, ears, and hands... causing loss of aesthetics.
Doctors recommend that teenagers and young children should not play with this ball. If unfortunately burned by hydrogen gas, the victim should cool the wound with tap water for 15-20 minutes to help relieve pain and reduce damage, then go to a medical facility as soon as possible for proper treatment by doctors.
