National Assembly Chairman burns incense to commemorate victims of mini apartment fire

On the afternoon of September 15, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and a delegation of National Assembly deputies arrived at the scene of the fire at mini apartment building No. 37, alley 29/70, Khuong Ha street, Khuong Dinh ward, Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi.

At the scene, the National Assembly Chairman and the delegation burned incense and observed a minute of silence for the unfortunate victims.

For the past two days, many people and students in the capital have come to the front door of the mini apartment building that caught fire to burn incense and commemorate the 56 victims.

To share the grief and loss of the families, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh directed to temporarily suspend cultural, sports and entertainment activities and events organized by the city, units under the city, districts, towns, communes, wards and townships from September 14 to September 17.

In addition, agencies and units held a moment of silence to commemorate the victims who died in the fire at 8:00 a.m. on September 18.

The fire at the mini apartment building at No. 37, Lane 29/70, Khuong Ha Street, which killed 56 people and injured 37 others, occurred on the night of September 12. The house where the fire broke out had a total floor area of ​​about 1,165 square meters with a total height of more than 20 meters (9 floors), divided into 45 apartments with about 150 residents.

Hanoi City Police decided to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Nghiem Quang Minh (born in 1979, owner of the mini apartment building where the fire occurred) for 4 months for violating fire prevention and fighting regulations.
