Hanoi stops entertainment activities to commemorate victims of mini apartment fire

Hanoi temporarily suspended cultural, sports, entertainment and recreational activities and events from September 14-17 to commemorate the victims of the mini apartment fire.

Regarding the mini apartment fire disaster that killed 56 people in Thanh Xuan district, to share the grief and loss of the families, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh directed to temporarily suspend cultural, sports, and entertainment activities and events organized by the city, city units, districts, towns, communes, wards, and townships from September 14 to September 17.

At the same time, all agencies and units from the city to the grassroots level agreed to hold a moment of silence to commemorate the victims who died in the fire at 8:00 a.m. on September 18.

Talking to reporters, Some leaders of the People's Committees of districts in Hanoi said they had received instructions from the Hanoi People's Committee to temporarily suspend cultural, entertainment, and sports activities... for 4 days.

Previously, a fire at a mini apartment building at No. 37, Lane 29/70, Khuong Ha Street, Khuong Dinh Ward, Thanh Xuan District (Hanoi) killed 56 people and injured 37 others on the night of September 12.

Hanoi police have decided to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and issue a 4-month temporary detention order for Nghiem Quang Minh, the owner of the apartment building where the fire occurred, for violating fire prevention and fighting regulations under Article 313 of the Penal Code.
