Nguyen Thi Yen in Co Tan residential area, An Phu ward (Kinh Mon), a 12D student at Kinh Mon II High School, is facing a major incident and is in dire need of help.
Yen is the eldest of three children. She is hard-working, obedient, always gets along with her friends, and has been an excellent student for the past 11 years of school.
In 2016, Yen's father had a work accident and was bedridden. He passed away in 2020. During that time, Ms. Hoang Thi Lien (Yen's mother) worked as a leather shoe worker, took care of her bedridden husband, and raised Yen's three children, so the family's finances were very tight.
Disaster struck Yen when on August 4, she had a traffic accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury. Doctors performed brain surgery and cultured part of her skull for future transplant. She is currently being treated at the Intensive Care Unit I, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital (Hanoi).
Ms. Lien sadly shared: “The doctor informed that my child’s indicators are showing signs of recovery. But my child has only just escaped death. In the coming time, my child’s treatment will be prolonged and we must prepare well for the conditions so that when the conditions are met, we can proceed with a second surgery, skull bone grafting and brain rehabilitation treatment.”
Ms. Lien is the main breadwinner in the family, but since her child had an accident, she has had to quit her job to take care of her child. The cost of living and treatment for her child has made the family's already difficult situation even more difficult.
Ms. Luong Thi Loan, President of the Women's Union of An Phu Ward, said: "Ms. Lien's family situation is extremely difficult because her husband has been bedridden for a long time. In 2022, the Women's Union of the ward adopted Ms. Lien's second daughter, Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, for a period of 1 year. In the case of Yen, the union asked for the opinion of the Ward Party Committee and agreed to let the Women's Union of Co Tan residential area go to mobilize and support her."
On August 18, May Xanh Charity Association (Kinh Mon) donated 15 million VND from benefactors to support Yen.
However, the cost of treatment for Yen is very high, without support, the family will hardly be able to afford it.
Yen's situation really needs the help of benefactors. Please send all help to her mother: Hoang Thi Lien, Co Tan residential area, An Phu ward, Kinh Mon town, phone number 0368876196.
