According to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Hai Duong province, due to the impact of floods after storm No. 3, the water levels of rivers in the area rose. By noon on September 11, the Thai Binh river system had issued a warning level III, and the Luoc river system was at warning level II.
At noon on September 11, 370 km of dykes and more than 10,000 km of canals in the province were basically stable and safe, ensuring flood prevention work. However, due to prolonged rain and floods and high flood levels, a number of incidents occurred in dyke and irrigation works in Kinh Mon town, Binh Giang, Thanh Mien, Ninh Giang districts... The incidents were detected and promptly handled by functional forces and local authorities from the very first hour.
To ensure the safety of life and property of people in the riverbank area, Hai Duong has evacuated 1,880 households with about 6,000 people from the dangerous area. Currently, 267 dike watchtowers are fully staffed and on duty 24/7 to patrol, guard, detect incidents early and handle them right from the first hour.
