Recently, authorities in Hai Duong have cracked dozens of cases involving fireworks involving many students...
Every Lunar New Year, the crime and law violations related to fireworks in the province become complicated. However, this Lunar New Year 2024, the crime and law violations related to fireworks in the province are different, that is, the situation of homemade fireworks for business and online sales tends to increase, posing a risk of fire and explosion and threatening the lives of many people. The subjects who make homemade fireworks come from many groups, and the danger is that among them are quite a few students from 12 to under 18 years old.
From the beginning of the peak period of crime suppression (December 15, 2023) to January 22, 2024, the Provincial Police discovered and caught 40 cases, 55 subjects were students and minors violating firecrackers, confiscated nearly 176 kg of firecrackers, 5.2 kg of firecrackers. Of the 40 firecracker violations involving students, 8 cases and 16 subjects illegally manufactured firecrackers.
Typically, on December 15, 2023, Pham Thai Ward Police (Kinh Mon) discovered that NTM, born in 2012, residing in Pham Thai Ward, illegally produced 5 kg of firecrackers. M. is a student at Pham Thai Secondary School. Or the case of a group of 5 students of Tan Hong Secondary School (Binh Giang) pooling money to buy chemicals and tools to make firecrackers on social media, then making their own firecrackers and bringing them to school to burn them was discovered by Tan Hong Commune Police in coordination with the school and recorded on December 16, 2023. In this case, the authorities seized more than 4.5 kg of firecrackers and many other exhibits. Related cases include V.D.K., born in 2007; LTB; TMĐ.; NVC and VTĐ. (both born in 2009)...
At the police station, these students admitted that all the materials used to make homemade firecrackers were purchased online and mixed according to the ratios they had learned (mostly through social networks). Some students admitted that they made them to sell in closed online groups at prices ranging from a few tens of thousands to 300,000 VND per firecracker. However, some students also admitted that they tried to make them to light up for fun during the 2024 Lunar New Year. The students were not aware of the unpredictable consequences of their homemade firecrackers, the level of danger that sometimes cost their lives. The act of buying, selling, transporting, storing, producing and using firecrackers is a violation of the law and is strictly prohibited in all forms.
In recent times, the provincial police have implemented many preventive, combative, and deterrent measures combined with propaganda and mobilization of people, including young people, not to trade, transport, store, or manufacture firecrackers. However, in the face of increasing cases of students making their own firecrackers, more cooperation from schools and families is needed to avoid unfortunate consequences caused by firecrackers to the students themselves.
