Setting up protective boundary markers helps prevent violations of hydraulic works.

Dozens of canals in Hai Duong have been marked with protective boundary markers, contributing to preventing violations of irrigation works.

From the beginning of the year to November 23, Hai Duong Province Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Co., Ltd. has completed marking the boundary to protect 22 canals with a total length of over 104 km.

Previously, from November 2022 to the end of 2023, the company completed the boundary marking of 22 canals with a total length of 109.53 km; signed a commitment not to violate the irrigation works of 38 canals with 2,546 organizations and individuals.

The Provincial Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Co., Ltd. has handed over boundary markers to the People's Committees of communes where irrigation works pass through for coordination in management and protection. The Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprises of districts, cities and towns are assigned to coordinate with the People's Committees of communes to organize the protection, inspection, maintenance and restoration of lost or incorrect markers (if any) compared to the approved boundary marker placement dossier.

General Director of the Provincial Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Co., Ltd. Nguyen Van Bot said that the organization of setting up boundary markers to protect canals is carried out in accordance with Circular 05/2018/TT-BNNPTNT dated May 15, 2018 detailing a number of articles of the Law on Irrigation. The implementation cost is supported by the province.

According to reporters in Gia Loc and Thanh Mien districts, violations of irrigation works no longer occur in canals where boundary markers have been placed.

Deputy Director of Thanh Mien District Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise Vu Duy Khuong said that up to now, the unit has completed placing 131 boundary markers on 4 major canals in the district.

Since the boundary markers were placed, people can see them visually, so they no longer encroach on the irrigation corridor to plant trees or build structures as before. From 2022 to present, Thanh Mien district has not had any serious violations of irrigation works.

Hai Duong Province Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Co., Ltd. is developing a production and business plan for 2025, submitting it to competent authorities for approval; in which, it will continue to place boundary markers to protect irrigation works on canals managed by the unit.
