When we heard the official words from her, we were surprised, sad and a little disappointed.
Finally, that day came. During the class meeting on Saturday, our homeroom teacher said goodbye, leaving her 42 students bewildered.
- Today, I want to announce something important to you all. Starting next week, I will be transferring to a very far away place. I will no longer be your homeroom teacher. A new young teacher will come to school to take over my position. I hope that our class will always be a united group, that you all will be good children and study well!
My whole class looked at each other in disbelief. We had heard the news, but we still hoped it was fake news, that it was impossible for our teacher to transfer when the new school year had just started. So when we heard the official words from her, we were very surprised, sad, and a little disappointed. Disappointed because our hopes had not come true. For nearly 4 weeks, we had been her students, middle school students stepping into a new environment, the routines of high school just catching up, the feelings for our homeroom teacher just starting to blossom... And now, we had to say goodbye.
Perhaps the members of the class all shared the same mixed feelings as me. At that moment, I remembered so many images of the first time I met the homeroom teacher. She was kind, lovable, and made a good impression at first sight on students who were at a rebellious age like us. We also could not know how, in the short time of only nearly 4 weeks as homeroom teacher, she knew the circumstances of most of the students in the class. She encouraged students with difficult circumstances, but was also strict enough with naughty students. She did not forget to encourage and motivate the whole class so that we would not be surprised with the new environment. So 4 weeks was not a long time but it also did not bring us many emotions and feelings of love from the students for their teacher.
During that farewell, Thanh was the first to cry. The most rebellious kid in the class. He was once forced by the teacher to invite his parents to meet him when the new school year had just started. The reason was that the school had a policy of prohibiting underage students from riding motorbikes or electric motorbikes to school. However, the school had announced it, the teacher had reminded them, the whole class had complied strictly, but he was the only one who was rebellious and wouldn't listen.
After the meeting with the parents, I don’t know how she got her to listen and ride her bike to school. She also stopped being naughty and teasing us girls. So when we saw her usually sullen face suddenly filled with tears, we wanted to cry too. Without anyone telling us, the whole class rushed over and hugged her, like baby birds surrounding their mother.
She also suppressed her emotions, she reminded us to continue the routines that she had set, even though she was no longer around, she would always update the class's situation. She said: "I hope you are willing to share your joys and difficulties if you need advice from me, I am very willing". Hearing her say that, we also felt warmer. Without anyone saying anything, the whole class tried to suppress our emotions to save this moment with her in photos as souvenirs. These will be the most wonderful and beautiful photos that all of us in class 10I took with her. We hope that she will always be healthy and successful in her teaching career at the new school.
Then, without anyone telling us, the whole class ran to hug her to replace the words that could not be said. I am sure that the 42 members of class 10I will forever remember this special class meeting in their high school life. Through the story of my class, I understood one thing, every meeting can lead to separation. So let's try to cherish every moment we have together, don't let the words pass by in vain.
