Arrested subject illegally buying and selling 12 heroin cakes

Lai Chau Provincial Police implemented the direction of the Ministry of Public Security to focus on reviewing and grasping the situation in key areas and fields, managing the movement of subjects to prepare for a peak period of attacking and suppressing crimes to ensure safety and order before, during and after the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024. In mid-November 2023, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department - Lai Chau Provincial Police discovered that subject Cu A Hang (born in 1997 in Pu Sam Cap commune, Sin Ho district) had suspicious signs of illegal drug trafficking and established Task Force No. 1123H to fight.

After understanding the activities of Hang and his accomplices, at 6:15 p.m. on February 2, at Km15+600 on the road from Lai Chau City to Nam Tam Commune (in Nam Tam 3 Village, Nam Tam Commune, Sin Ho District), the Task Force caught the subject red-handed for illegally buying and selling drugs. The seized evidence included 12 heroin bars, 1 mobile phone; 1 motorbike and some related personal documents.

At the investigation agency, Hang confessed to connecting with subjects in Muong Nhe district, Dien Bien province to buy and sell drugs from this district to Lai Chau. Currently, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department is continuing to coordinate with professional units to focus on fighting, expanding the case, clarifying the criminal acts of the subjects to handle them according to regulations.

At the conference, Colonel Nguyen Viet Giang, Director of Lai Chau Provincial Police, commended the outstanding achievements, acknowledged, praised and highly appreciated the efforts of the Task Force in the fight against crime, including drug crimes. Colonel Nguyen Viet Giang requested the Provincial Police and the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department to continue to strictly implement the direction of the Ministry of Public Security on crime prevention and control, ensuring peace for the people.
