Shooting and stabbing on New Year's Eve left 2 dead

During the 3 days of Tet (from the 30th to the 2nd), security and order in Hai Duong province were basically stable, including a shooting and stabbing incident that left 2 people dead.

Among the incidents, it is worth noting that at around 9:00 p.m. on January 21 (New Year's Eve), Mr. Le Ngoc D. (born in 1990), along with his wife, Ms. Le Thi Ngoc L. (born in 1984), and Mr. Pham Thanh S. (born in 1984, both residing in Quang Trung ward, Hai Duong city) went to the house of Nguyen Nam Truong (born in 1972, in Cao Duong village, Gia Khanh commune, Gia Loc) to demand money. At around 11:45 p.m., the two sides had a conflict and argued. Truong went to the second floor, took a knife and a homemade gun that he had prepared in advance and shot Ms. L twice. Then, he used a knife to stab Mr. S twice and slashed Mr. D. As a result, Mr. S. died on the spot, Ms. L. died at the hospital, and Mr. D. was slightly injured. The police have arrested Truong and are consolidating the case file for processing.

In addition to the above incident, on New Year's Eve, the police force discovered and handled 22 cases, 28 cases of illegal fireworks, a decrease of 6 cases, 1 case compared to the New Year's Eve of the Year of the Tiger 2022; 3 cases, 4 subjects illegally storing fireworks, an increase of 2 cases, 3 subjects; seized 3.5 kg of fireworks, mobilized people to hand over 1 cake of fireworks and 23 fireworks.

During the 3 days of Tet, Task Force 151 of the police at all levels promptly discovered and stopped a group of 12 young men in Ninh Giang district who were riding 4 motorbikes, weaving and carrying glass beer bottles with the intention of throwing them at others; in Kim Thanh district, 2 subjects were illegally storing primitive weapons; in Cam Giang district, 2 subjects were stealing property; in Kinh Mon town, 1 subject was storing 5 firecrackers.

At the same time, a resident of Ninh Giang district fell to his death, and a young man in Ha Thanh commune (Tu Ky) died of unknown causes on the edge of provincial road 391, in Ninh Giang town.
