Bac Ninh leads the country in developing social housing.

Bac Ninh province is considered the leading locality in the country in social housing construction.

From 2021 to now, Bac Ninh has 25 projects completed and granted construction permits, which when completed will meet the demand for nearly 20,000 apartments. This is the result of solutions implemented synchronously in recent times.

Mr. Dao Quang Khai, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, said that immediately after the project "Investing in the construction of at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers in the period of 2021-2030" was approved, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province directed synchronous solutions such as: organizing the construction and adjustment of housing development programs and plans; including social housing from now until 2030; organizing a review of planning to supplement and determine land funds for investment in the construction of social housing; and creating a list to attract investment.

At the same time, the Department of Construction is assigned to take the lead in developing the province's own policies and mechanisms to attract investment in building social housing, especially housing for workers and laborers in industrial parks.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Construction of Bac Ninh province Nguyen Tuan Dung, in addition to the policies supporting investment in social housing construction issued by the Central Government, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Bac Ninh province have issued their own policies and mechanisms to support capital sources and administrative procedures, investment, and promote the development of social housing, especially social housing for rent for workers.

To help people buy social housing at the correct approved price and prevent profiteering, Bac Ninh province has increased propaganda and publicized selling and rental prices at social housing projects.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Dung said that in the coming time, after the Housing Law 2023 takes effect, some difficulties and shortcomings will be resolved. The Department of Construction of Bac Ninh will coordinate with departments and branches to strengthen propaganda, guidance and dissemination of legal regulations. At the same time, urgently remove obstacles in the process of investment, construction, business, exploitation and management of social housing projects, especially housing for workers in industrial parks and clusters in the province.

The Department of Construction of Bac Ninh will also continue to advise the Provincial People's Committee to synchronously and effectively implement a number of solutions to further promote the social housing development program; allocate more preferential loans for social housing development projects.

Regarding planning and land, attracting investment, the Department of Construction of Bac Ninh continues to advise the Provincial People's Committee to complete the planning system at all levels, supplement technical infrastructure, social infrastructure, and strengthen the connecting traffic system; review and plan to supplement the social housing fund, especially the land fund for building social housing and accommodation for workers in areas with high demand.

According to the Project “Investing in the construction of at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income earners and industrial park workers in the period of 2021-2030,” from now until 2030, Bac Ninh province has planned to develop more than 70,000 social housing units; including more than 40,000 housing units for workers.

Through review and planning, Bac Ninh province has identified about 175 hectares of land for investment in building basic social housing to meet assigned development targets and plans.

Bac Ninh province will develop 30,671 apartments in the 2021-2025 period and 41,514 apartments in the 2026-2030 period.

Up to now, Bac Ninh province has implemented 54 social housing projects for low-income people and housing for workers in industrial parks, with a total land area of ​​about 173 hectares.

When completed, the project will provide about 7.1 million square meters of floor space with more than 77,000 apartments for about 231,000 people.
