Italian sports car company Alfa Romeo has just launched the 33 Stradale supercar with a limited production of 33 units worldwide.
After months of teasing an upcoming flagship sports car, Alfa Romeo has officially introduced the 33 Stradale.
The design of the supercar is inspired by the legendary 1967 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale with many distinctive exterior and interior details.
Future owners were treated to an exclusive unveiling during the 2022 Italian GP, with all 33 cars sold out a week later. Together with Alfa Romeo’s Bottega Special Projects team, each owner can personalise their 33 Stradale to their heart’s content, so no two cars are exactly alike.
The exterior of the supercar is influenced by the 33 Stradale model of the 60s with its large, characteristic headlights, lowered bodywork that extends to both sides, and a small shield-shaped grille that is directly integrated into the traditional “cofango” reverse-opening hood…
The 2024 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is equipped with a carbon fiber monocoque chassis with an aluminum alloy H-frame. The car has a characteristic butterfly door opening mechanism with a carbon fiber window frame, while the window glass is also made of ultra-light polycarbonate material.
The car's aerodynamics are also clearly shown in the many cuts as well as the large air intakes located in front of the rear wheel wells, similar to the previous model. The highlight at the rear of the 33 Stradale is the large round taillight cluster, combined with a large V-shaped motif, a carbon fiber diffuser and a dual sports exhaust cluster. Although not equipped with active aerodynamic features, the car still easily achieves a drag coefficient of only 0.375.
The interior of the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is designed with 2 options: Tributo and Alfa Corse. With the Tributo option, the interior space becomes classic with many familiar lines on the 1967 33 Stradale, while with Alfa Corse, the car becomes sportier and more powerful than ever.
Compared to other brands, Alfa Romeo does not equip any function keys on the steering wheel, helping to bring the purest concentration and driving feeling to the car owner. The dashboard also has a similar philosophy with minimalist aluminum alloy or carbon fiber material with a graphic interface that changes according to the driving mode.
Modeled after the cockpit of an aircraft, the central control area is made more practical with mechanical keys made from aluminum alloy/carbon fiber or more luxurious with premium leather/Alcantara surfaces. The car's seats are supplemented with 6-way electric adjustment and 4 driver hip support positions, in addition to the option of a 7-speaker premium sound system.
The performance of the 33 Stradale was developed and perfected by Alfa Romeo's talented engineers and Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas at the technology center in Balocco, Italy.
The supercar has 2 options: 3.0L V6 twin-turbo internal combustion engine and pure electric engine. With the internal combustion engine version, the car has a maximum capacity of 620 horsepower, combined with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, rear-wheel drive and electronic limited-slip differential. The pure electric version of the 33 Stradale has a maximum capacity of up to 750 horsepower and the ability to travel a maximum distance of 450 km in a single charging cycle.
The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 333 km/h. The engineers also added 2 driving modes: Strada and Pista. With Stradale mode, the driver will feel more comfortable during daily use with gentle gear shifting, softer suspension and the valve of the sports exhaust system only opening at speeds above 5,000 rpm. Meanwhile, Pista mode brings an exciting driving feeling when using the full power of the car, the ability to shift gears quickly, the exhaust valve is always open and allows the driver to disable the ESC electronic balance system.
This super product is equipped with a standard double wishbone suspension system along with an adaptive damping system on both the front and rear axles. When traveling at speeds below 40 km/h, the driver can raise the front axle by 50 mm to easily overcome obstacles.
In addition, the 33 Stradale is also equipped with a high-end carbon-ceramic braking system from the Brembo brand with 6-piston aluminum alloy monoblock calipers at the front axle and 4 pistons at the rear axle. The owner of the car can choose from 3 traditional colors: Rosso (red), Nero (black) and Giallo (yellow), or any other color according to personal wishes.
The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale will be handcrafted by artisans from Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera. After the Giulia SWB Zagato, this is also the second Alfa Romeo model to receive a coachbuild design that is completely different from commercial products.
The official price of this super product has not been announced by the car company, however, according to some sources, this number may be higher than 1 million USD. Besides Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, many other brands also launched car lines inspired by past legends such as Lamborghini with the Countach LPI 800-4, Porsche with the 911 Heritage Design line, Ferrari with the Monza product line...
