Hai Duong City has the most residential areas that changed their names when merging two wards, Pham Ngu Lao and Le Thanh Nghi.
In the 10 districts, towns and cities of the province implementing the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in the 2023-2025 period, there are 7 localities with a total of 27 villages and residential areas that need to change their names.
Hai Duong City has the most residential areas that need to be renamed with 8 areas. Le Thanh Nghi Ward currently has 8 residential areas with names in order from 1 to 8. Pham Ngu Lao Ward has 11 residential areas with names in order from 1 to 11. After merging the 2 wards, there are 8 residential areas with the same name from 1 to 8.
Therefore, on November 14, the People's Council of Pham Ngu Lao ward met and passed a resolution approving the plan to rename 8 residential areas from No. 1 - 8 in Pham Ngu Lao ward to 8 residential areas from No. 19 - 12 in the new Le Thanh Nghi ward.
Thanh Ha, Kinh Mon, Ninh Giang, Nam Sach districts each have 3 villages; Cam Giang district has 4 villages that will be changed from villages to residential areas due to merging into towns.
Kim Thanh district has 3 villages in Phuc Thanh commune that must change from village to zone when merging into Phu Thai town. In which, Duong Thai Nam village (Phuc Thanh commune) merged with part of Quynh Khe village (Kim Xuyen commune) must change from village to zone and change its name.
According to the plan, the Provincial People's Committee will decide to rename residential areas and villages in commune-level administrative units to be merged before November 25.
