The inevitable trend of applying artificial intelligence in news and press article production

On December 1, in Da Lat City (Lam Dong), the Press Department organized a training program on "Application of artificial intelligence in news and article production" for leaders of press agencies.

The program was attended by 45 students from 35 press agencies in Lam Dong and provinces and cities across the country.

According to the Organizing Committee, this is one of the series of activities to implement the cooperation agreement to deploy the Vietnam Press Development Project for the period 2020 - 2024, between the Ministry of Information and Communications and Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) with the aim of supporting the development of Vietnam's revolutionary press to integrate with the development of the world press, contributing to fulfilling its role in building the aspiration for a strong Vietnam and reaching higher.

Mr. Dang Khac Loi, Deputy Director of the Press Department, said: Currently, the 4.0 industrial revolution and the trend of digital transformation in all fields have had strong impacts on the press and media sector. Technology platforms have created many new ways of working, changing the methods and habits of the public in receiving information... To increase the speed of news and article production, attract readers and maintain their position and pioneering role in communication work, newspapers must inevitably apply Artificial Intelligence to their operations and management to better serve the needs of the public, taking advantage of the advantages of new technology platforms to gradually transform and operate in line with the trend of digital transformation of journalism.

In particular, the reporter shared about some specific applications of artificial intelligence in this field such as: Creating attractive titles and descriptions; using AI technology to automatically create news content and articles based on available data and information; using AI to analyze trends and data from different sources such as social networks, news sites and forums to provide detailed information about "hot" topics, outstanding news and readers' interests; using AI to optimize news content and articles to enhance SEO performance, helping content to be searched and read more on search engines...

In particular, there are 2 electronic newspapers of Vietnam News Agency, vietnamplus.vn and baotintuc.vn. Tin Tuc Newspaper (baotintuc.vn) is also in the Top 10 newspaper sources with the strongest spread index of information about artificial intelligence applied to life. Particularly, in the 10 articles with the strongest spread index of information about artificial intelligence applied to life, there are 3 articles from Tin Tuc Newspaper: "The Beatles' last song was completed thanks to AI", "Close-up of smart signs at traffic black spots in Hanoi" and "ChatGPT reaches a record of 100 million users after only 2 months of launch".

The project "Developing Vietnamese journalism in the period of 2020 - 2024" is an action program to implement the initiative of the Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung in the form of socialization with the companionship of Vinamilk in 5 years of implementation from 2020 - 2024.
