Identified 180 samples of pests and diseases on dragon fruit trees.

After nearly 1 year of implementation, the People's Committee of Chi Linh City (Hai Duong), the unit implementing the Project "Application of comprehensive technical solutions to prevent and control major pests and diseases on dragon fruit trees in Chi Linh City" has identified 180 samples of pests and diseases on dragon fruit trees in Hoang Hoa Tham commune and Ben Tam ward. The unit analyzed and identified 153 samples of pests and diseases. The most common are anthracnose and brown spots (24 samples each), the rest are mealybugs; fruit flies; rot of branches, flowers, fruits; root rot, branch shrinkage; nematodes (15 samples each).

For each type of pest or disease, the unit analyzed the cause, timing, characteristics and recommended farmers to use appropriate drugs to effectively prevent and destroy pests and diseases.

For brown spot disease, when planting, people need to take seeds from gardens that are not infected with the disease. At the end of the dry season or the beginning of the rainy season, apply Trichoderma biological products mixed with organic fertilizer to increase the ability to control disease sources in the soil. Using Amistar Top 325SC to spray to prevent and control the disease is effective at over 83%; Antracol 70 WP is effective at over 70%.

For anthracnose, use Amistar Top 325SC or Antracol 70 WP.
