According to the report of the Yen Bai Provincial Federation of Labor, the initial cause of the particularly serious work accident at Yen Bai Cement and Minerals Joint Stock Company was due to errors in implementing repair and operation procedures.
On April 23, the Yen Bai Provincial Federation of Labor sent a quick report to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor about the particularly serious work accident that killed 7 people and injured 3 others at the Yen Bai Cement and Minerals Joint Stock Company (Yen Binh district).
The report of the Yen Bai Provincial Federation of Labor stated that "the initial cause of the accident was determined to be due to errors in the implementation of the repair operation process (there were no signs of objective impact), leading to an especially serious work accident that killed 7 people and injured 3 people".
According to the Yen Bai Provincial Federation of Labor, the company has temporarily suspended related production activities at the factory to ensure safety and protect the scene.
On the afternoon of April 23, at Yen Bai Cement and Minerals Joint Stock Company, many blue-plate cars and police officers continued to enter and exit the area where the work accident occurred.
Security from the gate area to the inside of the factory was tightened, and authorities also stretched ropes around the accident site to assist with crime scene investigation.
Responding to the press on the morning of April 23, Yen Bai Provincial Party Secretary Do Duc Duy said the province determined this was an especially serious work accident, causing painful consequences for Yen Bai province, the company, and especially the families of the victims.
Therefore, Yen Bai province has directed the authorities to promptly intervene and focus on implementing measures to overcome the consequences of this particularly serious labor accident.
Yesterday afternoon, Yen Bai province established a provincial steering committee headed by the provincial People's Committee Chairman to jointly direct the implementation of remedial measures.
"The province has directed the provincial police, the provincial People's Procuracy and functional forces to organize protection, examine the scene, and investigate to determine the cause.
"If necessary, the province will report and request the functional agencies of the Ministry of Public Security to coordinate to promptly determine the cause and handle it according to regulations," said Mr. Duy, adding that in case there is sufficient legal evidence, the case will be prosecuted for investigation.
At around 1:30 p.m. on April 22, at Yen Bai Cement and Minerals Joint Stock Company (Yen Binh town, Yen Binh district, Yen Bai province), a particularly serious work accident occurred, killing 7 workers and injuring 3 others.
The initial cause of the accident was determined to be a breakdown in the crusher's electric motor, resulting in an accident for workers who were directly performing maintenance and repair of the machine.
Immediately after receiving the information, Yen Bai Provincial Party Secretary Do Duc Duy, Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee Tran Huy Tuan and provincial leaders went to the scene, discussed and directed measures to handle and resolve the accident.
According to the Yen Bai Provincial Labor Federation, initially, each victim's family will receive 228 million VND in support, of which the company will provide 200 million VND, Yen Bai province will provide 18 million VND, and the district will provide 10 million VND.
The injured person was supported with 56 million VND, of which the company supported 50 million VND, the province supported 4 million VND, and the district supported 2 million VND.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor visited and supported the deceased victims with 10 million VND and the injured with 5 million VND.
