Viettel continues to be identified as the best mobile network in 2G, 3G, 4G and exceeds the prescribed standards in all indicators at the beginning of 2021.

In the recent announcement of the results of telecommunications service quality measurement by the Department of Telecommunications (Ministry of Information and Communications), Viettel continues to be identified as the best mobile network in terms of 2G, 3G, 4G and exceeds the prescribed standards in all indicators.

Specifically, in the first quarter of 2021, Viettel's 4G speed reached 62.92 Mbps in Thai Nguyen and 52.35 Mbps in Bac Ninh. For the 3G network tested in the two provinces of Tay Ninh and Binh Phuoc, Viettel achieved an average speed of 20.51 Mbps.

In other indicators such as radio network availability, average service access delay, dropped transmission rate, successful call establishment rate, etc., Viettel also achieved better quality results than the requirements of the Ministry of Information and Communications.

In March 2021, OpenSignal published the Vietnam Mobile Network Experience 2021 report with similar results. Among the 7 mobile quality measurement categories, Viettel ranked No. 1 in the 6 most important categories, including: Video experience, game experience, voice application experience, download speed experience, 4G availability and 4G coverage experience.

Previously, the world's leading telecommunications testing company Umlaut announced Viettel as the best mobile network in Vietnam and awarded it the "Best in Test" certificate with the same score as Singtel (Singapore), Telstra (Australia), T-Mobile, Vodafone, Telefonica (Germany).

Viettel’s leading position in service quality is not surprising. In Vietnam as well as in the 10 international markets where the group operates, network quality has always been a core strength in business.

According to information from Viettel, to ensure customer service quality, in the first quarter of 2021, Viettel has strengthened its network infrastructure with more than 800 new BTS stations and applied many new solutions such as automated monitoring, optimizing the experience for each customer; testing 4G TDD technology on the 2300MHz band, integrating and transmitting data simultaneously on multiple frequencies to expand capacity for stations in crowded areas, helping to increase speed for Viettel customers.

Up to now, Viettel is still the largest 4G network in Vietnam with nearly 42,000 BTS stations and 33 million subscribers.

In 2021, Viettel will invest in about 4,600 new 4G stations to meet customer needs and improve service experience quality.

In addition to developing 5G and IoT networks, Viettel still considers 4G as the key technology in the next 3 years. In the first quarter of 2021, Viettel continued to record growth in data usage demand nationwide. In particular, 4G data traffic increased by nearly 10% compared to the fourth quarter of 2020 and was 40% higher than the first quarter of 2020.
