With the trend of people choosing foreign destinations during the holidays increasing rapidly, Vietnam Airlines Group will also open for sale more than 155,000 seats on international routes, more than double compared to the same period in 2022.

In the domestic market, travel demand is still mostly concentrated on flights between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc... Vietnam Airlines continuously updates market demand, flexibly adjusting flights to best meet travel demand on the occasion of National Day, September 2.

"In addition, ticket prices this year will be flexibly opened according to the market situation with a variety of different levels. Vietnam Airlines Group recommends that passengers buy tickets on the website, mobile application, ticket offices, official agents and request invoices to avoid buying fake tickets or tickets with inflated prices. Airlines also encourage passengers to use check-in procedures to limit queuing, avoid crowds at the airport, and save time such as online check-in," Vietnam Airlines' announcement stated.

On August 6, although airlines have not increased flights, airfares for the September 2 holiday are showing signs of decreasing.

Specifically, round-trip ticket prices for flights from Hanoi,TPLakeWillBrightTickets to tourist destinations such as Phu Quoc, Da Nang, Con Dao, Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Nha Trang... are reduced by 1.2 - 1.8 million VND/ticket compared to the time when tourists booked during the peak season at the end of July.

Mr. Dinh Viet Thang, Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, said that adjusting airfares during the September 2nd holiday or any other holiday or Tet holiday is decided by the airlines themselves.

“However, this adjustment must be within the price range prescribed by law. If airlines sell at a higher price than the price range, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam will intervene. When the number of passengers is too large and the number of flights is not enough, airlines will ask for permission to increase flights. Based on actual demand and proposals from airlines, the Civil Aviation Authority will consider adjusting the increase of flights accordingly,” said Mr. Thang.
