Many people have taken to social media to report that in recent days, An Binh Clean Water Plant (Nam Sach - Hai Duong) has been slow to pump water, the water pressure is weak and cannot reach the 2nd and 3rd floors, affecting daily life.
On the afternoon of April 30, speaking with a reporter from Hai Duong Newspaper, Chairman of Nam Sach District People's Committee Ho Ngoc Lam confirmed that some residents had called him to report the above situation.
On the same morning, Mr. Lam and leaders of some specialized agencies of the district inspected the operation of An Binh Clean Water Plant and some residential areas that have reported a shortage of domestic water in recent days. The Chairman of Nam Sach District People's Committee said that this clean water plant is in the process of renovation, increasing capacity and improving technology. Although the people have been informed and the plant has a plan to produce backup water during the upgrade period, the clean water supply capacity has not yet fully met the needs of customers.
"We have directed the factory to urgently develop a plan to supply water to people in the localities, prioritizing remote areas that are lacking water, especially during the current hot days. On the other hand, we will speed up the project implementation progress to best meet the needs of customers," Mr. Lam informed.
The leader of An Binh Clean Water Plant said that on April 17, the plant began implementing the project "Upgrading the capacity of the An Binh Clean Water Plant's treatment cluster from 10,000 m3/day and night to 40,000 m3/day and night". During the upgrade, the plant installed a backup water production system with 2 lines. Therefore, the daily water output was partially reduced, unable to provide enough water as usual.
In recent days, the weather has been hot, and it is also the time of the April 30 and May 1 holidays, so the demand for clean water among the people has increased. This is also one of the reasons why the clean water supply of the unit has not been able to meet all the needs of customers. During some holidays and Tet in previous years, this situation also occurred. The factory has notified customers to explain the reason and advised customers to use water economically.
The project is expected to be completed in about 15 days. To ensure that all customers do not suffer from a shortage of clean water and to ensure that the temporary water production system is in line with its capacity, since April 29, the plant has pumped water at set times to concentrate the pumping pressure on each locality.
Regarding the opinions of some people about the dirty water quality of this factory, the bottom of the water tank has a lot of turbid sediment the color of alluvium, the leader of An Binh Clean Water Plant explained: "Our output water products are tested periodically, ensuring quality. Some people posted videos on social networks reflecting that the bottom of their family's water tank has sediment, possibly due to not being washed for a long time. People need to periodically wash the tank, the water tank will not have this condition".
An Binh Clean Water Plant is invested by Nam Son Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company. The plant has been operating since 2013, exploiting surface water from Kinh Thay River, with an initial design capacity of 10,000m3/day and night, which will soon increase to 40,000m3/day and night. The plant is serving nearly 20,000 customers in 9 communes of Nam Sach district, including: Cong Hoa, Phu Dien, An Lam, An Binh, Quoc Tuan, Thanh Quang, Hop Tien, Nam Hung and Hiep Cat.
