According to a statement from China Lanzhou Railway Co., Ltd., some trains from Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang, to cities in neighboring Gansu Province such as Lanzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing and Kunming were affected. However, all high-speed train services on the Lanzhou-Xinjiang route were operating normally.

In the current situation, the company plans to increase the passenger capacity of the Lanzhou-Uyghur high-speed train line by doubling the number of carriages on February 19 and 20 to increase the number of passengers from 613 to 1,226. Meanwhile, Lanzhou train stations will improve reservation services and deploy volunteers to assist passengers in various ways.

A total of 54 passenger trains in Xinjiang were unable to depart as scheduled on February 17 due to bad weather. From February 16 to 18, many localities in the autonomous region suffered from severe cold weather and strong winds.
