Van Quyet excelled, Hanoi FC defeated The Cong Viettel

The Cong - Viettel will face Hanoi FC in the Capital derby in round 6 of V.League 2023/24. This is also the match between two candidates for the Vietnamese Golden Ball, Nguyen Hoang Duc and Pham Tuan Hai. However, in the confrontation at Hang Day Stadium, both of these faces were overshadowed by the brilliance of Nguyen Van Quyet.

Right after the opening whistle, both sides played at a high tempo. The goal came early for Hanoi FC. In the 11th minute, Pham Tuan Hai made a pass from the left wing into the penalty area. The Cong - Viettel defense missed Van Quyet and this striker finished close to the goal to open the score of the match.

With the opening goal, Hanoi FC slowed down. They proactively retreated to their own half. Viettel's The Cong passed the ball back and forth but lacked ideas to find a way into goalkeeper Nguyen Van Hoang's goal.

The Cong Viettel tried hard to find an equalizer. However, they were dealt a heavy blow by the second goal. Denilson Junior headed the ball into the net of The Cong Viettel after an accurate pass from Van Quyet.

In the second half, Viettel regained their spirit. They almost equalized in the 48th minute with Bruno Cantanhede's skillful maneuvering and finishing. A few minutes later, this striker missed another opportunity when facing goalkeeper Nguyen Van Hoang.

In the final minutes, both sides created some dangerous chances. However, the strikers lacked a bit of luck to get their names on the scoreboard. The match ended with a 2-0 victory for Hanoi FC.
