Tu Ky strengthens propaganda to prevent fraud through organizing seminars

The Chairman of Tu Ky District People's Committee requested to diversify forms of propaganda, pay attention to cases with little access to information, gullible cases, people in difficult circumstances, people with low awareness... Focus on promoting the role of prestigious people, heads of organizations, people who influence many people to improve propaganda effectiveness.

Agencies, units and localities shall implement measures to promptly detect, prevent, combat and handle subjects who take advantage of seminars to commit fraud and appropriation of property. Promptly propose to commend and reward collectives and individuals with achievements in propaganda and crime prevention work...

Recently, in Tu Ky area, there have been some groups of people taking advantage of organizing seminars, under the guise of introducing products, taking care of customers, and giving promotional gifts to entice people to buy household appliances, functional foods... at high prices. The main targets are the elderly, women, and poor workers. Initially, people came with the intention of taking gifts home, however, after attending the seminar and being lured by the subjects, many people spent large sums of money to buy products with prices many times higher than their actual value.

On October 7, Hai Duong Electronic Newspaper published a reader's opinion "People in Minh Duc commune are upset because they buy household goods at high prices" reflecting a group of people claiming to represent a company in Hanoi who came to organize a seminar in Minh Duc commune, selling products at prices many times higher than the market price.
