Displaying simple images of General Vo Nguyen Giap

On October 13, at Thang Long Imperial Citadel (Hanoi), the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition of General Vo Nguyen Giap took place to commemorate the 10th anniversary of his death (October 4, 2013 - October 4, 2023).

The exhibition, organized by the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center in collaboration with the Quang Binh Club and Colonel Tran Hong, journalist, photographer, and former reporter of the People's Army Newspaper, displays 30 large-size photos of General Vo Nguyen Giap.

The works record everyday, simple images of General Vo Nguyen Giap - the legendary general and outstanding military leader of Vietnam.

Besides photos of the General revisiting Dien Bien Phu, images of him working hard or meeting comrades, compatriots, and friends from all over the world, the exhibition also displays simple moments of General Vo Nguyen Giap.

These are images of him sitting and relaxing while playing the piano for his wife; images of him meditating in the morning or when he celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival with his grandchildren; moments of him leisurely planting trees in his hometown; moments of visiting children in charity classes... In addition, the exhibition also displays images recording the emotions of people across the country towards the General after his passing...

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Colonel and journalist Tran Hong recalled the profound memories of the more than 20 years he held a camera and recorded the simple moments of the Commander-in-Chief of the Vietnam People's Army. For him, it was an honor and pride for a journalist-soldier of the People's Army Newspaper.

"The exhibition is organized with the desire to honor and show gratitude for the great contributions of General Vo Nguyen Giap to the Fatherland, so that everyone can once again look back and remember the simple images of the legendary general of the nation on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the General's passing," journalist Tran Hong shared.

Present at the opening ceremony, Mrs. Vo Hoa Binh, daughter of General Vo Nguyen Giap, expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the kindness of Journalist Tran Hong and the public towards General Vo Nguyen Giap over the years. "Our family is always grateful and cherishes those special feelings," Mrs. Vo Hoa Binh shared.

The exhibition about General Vo Nguyen Giap will run until October 19, 2023.
