North Korea's move came after US and South Korean military officials held annual defense talks in Washington.
On the morning of October 31, Vietnam time, the South Korean military said North Korea launched an unidentified ballistic missile into the sea east of the Korean peninsula.
The announcement by the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) did not provide details but said the force was analyzing North Korea's latest launch.
