Over 2,723 billion VND paid to the State budget after 4 auctions of car license plates

Information from the Traffic Police Department said that the Ministry of Public Security is organizing the 4th car license plate auction.

As of August 2, 2024, the total number of license plates put up for auction was over 1.18 million; the total number of successfully auctioned plates was 32,151; the total value of successfully auctioned assets was over VND 2,832.7 billion.

The total amount of money that the auction winner has paid into the Traffic Police Department's specialized collection account to pay to the state budget is over 2,723 billion VND.

On June 27, the National Assembly passed the Law on Road Traffic Safety and Order, effective from January 1, 2025, which includes provisions on vehicle license plate auctions, contributing to the effective exploitation of public assets such as vehicle license plates, generating revenue for the State budget; investing in infrastructure systems for registration and license plate issuance...

In this Law, the National Assembly assigned the Government to specify in detail a number of contents on vehicle license plate auctions, including adding regulations on auctioning license plates of automobiles operating in the transport business (yellow background, white letters and numbers) and motorbikes and scooters.

Currently, the Ministry of Public Security is coordinating with the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Finance to focus on developing a Decree to submit to the Government on the auction of vehicle license plates. After the Prime Minister signs and promulgates it, the Ministry of Public Security will implement the auction of vehicle license plates for transport business activities (yellow background, white letters and numbers) and motorbikes, motorbikes along with cars.

Of these, Hanoi has 4 cases, Phu Tho, Da Nang each have 2 cases, An Giang, Bac Kan, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Dak Lak, Dong Thap, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa, Tien Giang each have 1 case.
