A year after launching the new generation, Japanese car brand Toyota introduced the first Alphard 2025 for the domestic market.

The new MPV adds a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain option and a 4-seat Spacious Lounge version inspired by the Lexus LM.

The new PHEV setup on the 2025 Alphard includes a 2.5-liter gasoline engine with an E-Four system to produce a total output of 302 horsepower. A lithium-ion battery pack of undisclosed capacity but providing an operating range of 73 km in EV mode, according to Toyota. This battery supports fast charging to 80% in just 38 minutes.

The PHEV powertrain delivers quietness and an enhanced driving experience with the comfort of EV (pure electric) mode, the company said. Toyota also added soundproofing materials. EV mode allows the vehicle to operate without starting the internal combustion engine.

The Japanese automaker added the Spacious Lounge option to the 2025 Alphard. This premium version is based on the Executive Lounge and is configured with 4 seats, with two business class seats in the back, similar to the Lexus LM.

The Alphard doesn't have a partition or a 48-inch screen like the LM 500h Executive, but it does have a pair of curtains between the two rows of seats. The rear seats are electrically adjustable, reclining, and have retractable footrests.

According to plan, Toyota Alphard 2025 will be sold in the Japanese market from early 2025, priced at 32,600-68,000 USD.
