The movement "I love my Fatherland" has been responded to by many union members and youths in Hai Duong with practical and meaningful actions in various fields with aspirations and a spirit of dedication to serve the Fatherland.
The movement “I love my Fatherland” was launched at the 7th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2014-2019, to encourage young people to express their patriotism through specific revolutionary actions, actively participate in building a strong association, be proactive, voluntary, creative, complete assigned tasks well, and be ready to contribute to the homeland and country.
At the forum “I love my Fatherland”, historian Duong Trung Quoc affirmed: “Patriotism is the core value of development and must be passed down through generations. Everyone has love for the Fatherland. If citizens of each country know how to love their Fatherland, they will also know how to respect other countries and strive towards a better world”.
In the 2019-2024 term, the Hai Duong Provincial Youth Union launched the movement “I love my Fatherland” in all levels of the association with the goal of building a generation of Hai Duong youth with “pure hearts, bright minds, and great ambitions”. Joining the movement, each young person finds an environment to experience and express their love for the Fatherland through practical and concrete actions.
The Youth Union and Association at all levels effectively promoted propaganda channels, applied digital transformation combined with the activities of clubs, groups, teams, and groups, thereby grasping the situation and orienting youth public opinion. Propaganda content was deeply exploited in association with vivid practice, especially on the occasions of celebrating major holidays of the country and of the Youth Union and Association. The whole province organized 1,527 traditional activities, launched and responded to 120 contests to learn and study the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels, nearly 2,000 cultural and artistic exchange festivals, friendly sports tournaments, and 295 traditional meetings.
Activities of "Repaying gratitude - Remembering the source when drinking water", visiting "red addresses", taking care of, embellishing and promoting the value of historical and cultural relics were organized effectively, contributing significantly to educating traditions for young people. On the occasion of the anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27, many activities expressing the deep gratitude of young people received the support of the people, spreading in the community such as the program of restoring martyrs' portraits "Hai Duong, the day of return", gratitude meals, visiting and helping families with preferential policies to clean their houses, harvest agricultural products, take care of martyrs' cemeteries, lighting candles in gratitude, consulting, examining and giving free medicine.
During the term, the province organized 1,215 activities to return to the source, visit historical sites, 2,556 activities to "repay gratitude", preserve cultural and historical values; more than 15,000 war invalids, families of martyrs, people with meritorious services to the revolution... were visited, cared for and supported by the association at all levels.
In order to continue implementing the Campaign "Sentiment to the Fatherland's Borders" and "Journey to the Homeland's Seas and Islands", the whole province has contributed more than 2.7 billion VND to support activities to protect the sovereignty of the borders and islands, and support children in difficult circumstances in the northern mountainous provinces. Every year, the Youth Union and Association at all levels coordinate with the local Military Command to effectively implement the program "Joining the Army Day", visiting and giving gifts to new recruits leaving to defend the Fatherland with a total value of more than 3.5 billion VND.
With the goal of building a class of "Hai Duong Youth living beautifully and usefully", the campaigns "Building a model of Vietnamese youth values in the new era", "Youth with traffic culture", "One good news every day, one good story every week"... have been widely deployed by the association at all levels with 13,570 news bulletins and articles about good people and good deeds posted on cyberspace, broadcast on local loudspeaker systems and through mobile propaganda teams.
As the Covid-19 pandemic became more complicated, the association in the province changed its activities and flexibly adapted to the epidemic situation. The province established 121 youth volunteer teams with 5,250 youth union members to participate in tracing, testing, supporting vaccination for 297,028 people, and supporting sample collection in communes, wards, and towns...
From 2020 to present, more than 100 district-level youth projects and 2,572 grassroots youth projects and tasks with a total value of over 20 billion VND have contributed to realizing the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas".
The programs "Winter Volunteer", "Spring Volunteer", "Youth Month", "Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign", "Journey of Young Doctors Following Uncle Ho's Teachings"... are organized annually, creating positive social effects. During the term, the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union mobilized resources to build 5 bridges worth 965 million VND in the provinces of Ha Giang, Son La, Hai Duong, Yen Bai, Lai Chau, and presented 202 gifts worth 115 million VND along with many supplies and items.
The whole province has organized more than 300 car washes to raise funds, presented more than 30,000 gifts, organized health consultations, medical examinations, and provided free medicine to 30,700 policy beneficiaries and the elderly in difficult circumstances with a total value of over 10.4 billion VND, organized voluntary blood donations, and collected 39,997 units of blood.
In order to promote the spirit of "Youth pioneering digital transformation", the association's chapters at all levels have carried out 22 projects to digitize information of historical relics integrating VR 360 technology, including 3 provincial projects with a total value of more than 600 million VND. Maintained 235 community digital technology teams, supported more than 1.2 million people to install and activate VneID electronic identification accounts, use online public services, and online payment accounts.
With practical and meaningful actions, the "I love my Fatherland" movement has contributed to building a generation of young people rich in ideas, with qualifications, capacity, health, many aspirations and a spirit of dedication to serve the Fatherland; following the tradition of their ancestors, fostering love for the homeland and country in each young person.
