Going to the temple with my mother helped me realize many things, especially that I must try hard in my studies and strive to be filial to my parents.

Each person's life is a colorful picture. Each person will paint it with different colors. One of the most meaningful colors in a person's life is the memories with relatives, especially parents. For me, going to the temple with my mother is the greatest joy.

The sun hid under the white clouds, gently spreading its rays to warm all living things. On the weekend, after preparing everything, my mother and I went to the temple. The village temple had an ancient wooden gate, with ancient Chinese characters on both sides. I blurted out:

- The village temple is so beautiful, isn't it, Mom?

Entering the temple, there are rows of neatly trimmed pine trees. On both sides of the temple are banyan trees, fig trees, and banyan trees so big that a person cannot hug them around. In front of the temple, there are a few nuns sweeping leaves to welcome visitors to the temple. My mother took me to burn incense and worship Buddha. She told me that people often go to the temple at the beginning of the year or on the 15th and 1st of every month to pray for good luck and favorable things. My mother and I burned incense and prayed.

The atmosphere in the temple made me feel comfortable, my soul was purified, and my heart felt strangely warm. After burning incense, my mother and I went down to the Mother Temple to visit the monk. When he saw me and my mother, he immediately smiled and welcomed me. His face was gentle with many deep wrinkles. I knew him since I was a child, but after growing up, I didn't see him much, only hearing what my mother told me every time she went to the temple. But in my eyes, he hasn't changed much, he is still a gentle, kind monk, always willing to help others. This is also the way he is most devoted to the temple and contributes the most to the temple. When we met the monk, my mother and I greeted him. He clasped his hands in front of his chest and chanted "Namo Amitabha Buddha", then took out a lucky bracelet from his pocket and placed it in my hand:

- Teacher, please give me good health and good study!

- Yes, thank you teacher! I will try to study well!

My mother talked to the monk for a while longer and then asked his permission to leave.

Mother said:

- You know, before your parents got married, this temple was very famous and attracted many people to worship Buddha. Talking about the past, I just remembered…

- Remember what, mom?

- I remember the time when my grandmother's family was so poor that they could no longer afford to send my mother to school, so she had to drop out of school early to help her. Her biggest wish at that time was to go to university, but she could never make it come true.

When my mother said this, I could feel her sadness in her voice because she could not fulfill her wish that year. I was afraid that she would be sad, so I quickly said:

- I will fulfill that wish for you, mother.

This is not an empty promise to comfort my mother, but a sincere promise from the bottom of my heart. My mother also smiled and replied:

- Oh, thank you, my daughter! I'm so happy. You should try hard from now on. Remember that it's never too late to try! I don't expect you to reach your goal through your own efforts.

Yes, I will listen to you, mom!

The mother and child happily chatted and chatted, making the way home seem shorter.

The trip to the temple helped me realize many things. I will try my best as my mother said. Because my parents had to save every penny to raise me and educate me. They deserve a better life and I will do it. I will always be filial to my parents as Buddha taught and create the most beautiful memories with them because I understand that parents will not be with us for the rest of our lives. So cherish every precious moment when you are with your parents.
