A special gift doesn't have to be expensive. Try giving your mom a gift you made yourself.

Bút xanh: Qùa tặng mẹ

On Sunday morning, Gia Bao had just woken up when he saw Nam Phong and Hai Yen, two of his neighborhood friends, calling him outside the gate. He yawned as he walked out the gate, muttering:

- You guys get up so early! It's Sunday. I still want to sleep!

Hai Yen glared at Gia Bao, pushed him aside, pulled Nam Phong's hand into the house, sat down on the chair and said loudly:

- You are such a sleepy worm. Are you going to go into a cocoon and pupate?

Nam Phong also laughed and joked:

- I wonder if Gia Bao's black cocoon can turn into a butterfly?

Gia Bao looked angry but replied slyly:

- Yes, I'm ugly, I'm black... but black is actually very beautiful! What's going on? Tell me!

The three friends looked at each other and smiled happily. Hai Yen looked around Gia Bao's house and spoke:

- Nam Phong and I came here to ask you what gift you gave your mother on March 8th this year?

Gia Bao scratched his head and stammered:

- I...I...so what did you guys give your mom?

- I will slaughter the pig to save money to buy my mother a new shirt. She always buys new clothes for us, but she never buys anything for herself. Many of the shirts my mother has worn for years are very old, Nam Phong said.

- As for me, I will give my mother a beautiful bun. My mother works in a company, operates machinery and needs to keep her hair neatly tied to ensure safety, Hai Yen also enthusiastically showed off.

Then Hai Yen also told that Hong Nhung, Chien Thang, Ngoc Tam… all prepared meaningful gifts for their mothers. Finally, Hai Yen said:

- I just want to grow up quickly to earn a lot of money to bring money back to my mother.

Hearing Yen say that, Nam Phong happily replied: "Bring money home for your mother/ Don't bring sadness to your mother...".

Seeing Gia Bao was silent all this time, Hai Yen turned to emphasize:

- Hey, why are you so quiet? Did you forget something important?

Gia Bao was confused, his face red:

- How can I forget? It's just...

Hai Yen saw that her friend had not yet expressed his intention, so she took the opportunity to speak in an adult voice and lecture:

- It was okay when we were young and didn't know, but now that we're grown up, we have to know how to take care of our parents and relatives. Just think about it, our parents gave us everything, worked hard to take care of us and raise us.

Gia Bao said softly:

- I know. It's just that my gift is very special, I can't "reveal" it to you guys yet.

Hearing Gia Bao say that, Nam Phong and Hai Yen were both very curious. They tried their best to flatter him, but Gia Bao insisted that he would tell them on March 8th.

When Nam Phong and Hai Yen returned, Gia Bao sat there with a worried expression because he really had not thought of what gift to give his mother. After thinking for a while and still not being able to figure it out, Gia Bao decided to clean the house and then go to his grandmother's house to ask for advice.

When Gia Bao arrived at his grandmother's house, he saw her cooking, so he asked:

- Grandma, do you know any really expensive gifts for March 8th? Please show me so I can buy some for my mother.

- Why did you suddenly buy a gift for your mother? And why did you want to buy such an expensive one? Is your grandchild that rich?

Gia Bao was embarrassed:

- I bought a gift for my mother on March 8th. All my friends have prepared gifts for their mothers, but I still don't know what to give them. I promised my friends that I would give my mother a very special gift.

Hearing Gia Bao speak, the young lady understood, she smiled:

- A special gift doesn't have to be expensive. Try giving your mother a gift you made yourself. I think she'll like it better than any gift you buy.

Gia Bao was still very hesitant because he had never made a gift before. He and his friends thought that buying one was quick, convenient, and very beautiful.

Seeing Gia Bao lost in thought, the young woman said:

- Try cooking dinner for your mother! She will be very happy when she comes home from work all day and receives such a meaningful gift.

But Gia Bao never knew how to cook. He was too lazy to even help his mother cook. He only knew how to study and play. Gia Bao remembered the times his mother asked him to help in the kitchen, he always found excuses to refuse and felt so ashamed. Gia Bao blamed himself in his mind: “I am a lazy child! If I had helped my mother with housework, everything would have been so easy now!”

The young lady seemed to read Gia Bao's mind and gently said:

- March 8th is coming soon, so from today, you should practice cooking to help your parents! I will lend you my cookbook. It has many nutritious menus and also instructions on how to arrange the meal beautifully.

Holding the cookbook “Free Chef” by Hungazit - Nguyen Manh Hung that his grandmother lent him, Gia Bao was extremely happy. He promised himself that he would study cooking seriously so that he could give his mother a special gift on International Women’s Day this year.

“When Nam Phong and Hai Yen know this secret, they will definitely give their mother a special gift every day because we are both good children,” Gia Bao thought and happily said:

- I understand. Thank you, young lady! That day, I invited you to my house to have dinner and have fun together!
