The Ministry of Information and Communications has just issued a Plan to organize the third Vietnamese Book and Reading Culture Day in 2024.
As planned, the Ministry of Information and Communications will preside over and coordinate with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Publishing Association and the Hanoi People's Committee to organize the opening ceremony of the third Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day and the Welcome Book Festival in Hanoi from April 17 to 21.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is in charge of organizing response activities at the National Library of Vietnam, the library system and cultural institutions.
Central ministries, branches, associations and unions develop plans to implement activities in accordance with their functions, tasks and practical requirements. Specifically, the Ministry of Education and Training organizes activities in the system of schools, academies and training facilities. The Ministries of Public Security and National Defense organize activities in the security and defense forces.
The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union organizes activities within the system of Youth Union organizations and the Vietnam Youth Federation. The Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor organize activities within the system of Associations/Trade Unions at all levels.
Vietnam Publishing Association and Vietnam Library Association jointly organize activities chaired by the Ministries of Information and Communications, Culture, Sports and Tourism; and deploy response activities in member organizations of the Association.
The Academy of Journalism and Communication, Hanoi University of Culture, Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, College of Information and Communication, School of Training and Development of Information and Communication Management Staff coordinated to organize response activities, book learning contests associated with training, scientific research, and cultural activities.
Universities, colleges, and vocational schools organize activities related to training, scientific research, and cultural activities.
The publishing house's governing body directs the publisher to organize response activities, presides over the organization within the system of agencies, organizations, and units under the management of the governing body; organizes book weeks, book fairs, etc.
Localities implement the organization plan in conjunction with political tasks and major holidays of the year in the area; assign the Department of Information and Communications to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism/Department of Culture and Sports, departments, branches and sectors to organize celebration activities. The organization must reach the grassroots areas, focusing on remote areas, areas with difficult conditions, in order to create a widespread and effective response from society.
Vietnam News Agency, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam and other press and media agencies will promote the activities of the third Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day; develop a column on books; introduce typical models, organizations and individuals in developing a reading culture.
Publishers, printing establishments, and distribution establishments proactively organize book weeks, book fairs, and key book release months to show gratitude to customers.
