Prime Minister mobilizes and appoints Deputy Ministers at 7 ministries

Mr. Bui Hoang Phuong, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications and Mr. Pham Duc Long, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications were transferred and appointed to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Science and Technology.

Mr. Le Anh Tuan, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee and Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, former Deputy Head of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission, hold the position of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Two Deputy Ministers of Planning and Investment, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam and Mr. Do Thanh Trung, were appointed as Deputy Ministers of Finance. Mr. Ho Sy Hung, Vice Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, was also transferred and appointed as Deputy Minister of Finance.

Mr. Phan Tam, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, holds the position of Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi, Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, holds the position of Deputy Minister of Home Affairs. Ms. Nong Thi Ha, Deputy Minister and Vice Chairwoman of the Ethnic Committee, holds the position of Deputy Minister of Ethnic Affairs and Religion.

In addition, 6 Deputy Ministers of Agriculture and Rural Development, including Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Mr. Tran Thanh Nam, Mr. Phung Duc Tien, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tri, Mr. Hoang Trung and Mr. Vo Van Hung, were transferred and appointed to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment (the ministry after the merger).

Four Deputy Ministers of Natural Resources and Environment were transferred and appointed as Deputy Ministers of Agriculture and Environment, including Mr./Ms. Le Cong Thanh, Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa, Tran Quy Kien, and Le Minh Ngan. Thus, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment after the restructuring has 10 Deputy Ministers.

The Government bloc after the reorganization includes 14 ministries and 3 ministerial-level agencies, reducing 5 ministries, branches and 3 agencies compared to before. The Ministry of Finance was established on the basis of merging the Ministry of Planning and Investment and taking the name of the Ministry of Finance. The Ministry of Construction was established on the basis of merging the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Transport. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment was established on the basis of merging the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. The Ministry of Science and Technology was established on the basis of merging the Ministry of Information and Communications with the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The Ministry of Home Affairs was established on the basis of merging with the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs. The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions was established on the basis of the current Ethnic Minorities Committee and received the functions, tasks, and organization of the state management apparatus on religion from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

In addition to the new ministries, the Government's organizational structure will maintain the ministries and ministerial-level agencies, including: Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Health, Government Office, Government Inspectorate, and State Bank of Vietnam.
