President presents appointment decisions for Deputy Prime Ministers and Ministers for the 2021-2026 term

Also attending were Politburo members: Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister; Nguyen Hoa Binh, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister; Le Minh Hung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Commission; General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; Party Central Committee members: Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; leaders of central departments, ministries and branches.

Authorized by the President, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Pham Thanh Ha announced the President's decision to appoint Mai Van Chinh and Nguyen Chi Dung as Deputy Prime Ministers; Tran Hong Minh as Minister of Construction; Nguyen Manh Hung as Minister of Science and Technology; Do Duc Duy as Minister of Agriculture and Environment; and Dao Ngoc Dung as Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and other Party and State leaders presented flowers and congratulated newly appointed Deputy Prime Ministers Mai Van Chinh and Nguyen Chi Dung and the newly appointed Ministers.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Luong Cuong congratulated the six comrades who had just received the appointment decisions; affirming that this was the recognition and high appreciation of the Party, State and people for the contributions and dedication of the comrades throughout their work; at the same time, it was a heavier task, requiring higher responsibilities of the comrades to unite and organize with the Government and the Prime Minister to successfully carry out the very heavy task in 2025 and in the coming time.

The President affirmed that the 6 comrades appointed this time are all cadres with strong political will, good moral qualities, always dedicated, highly responsible with outstanding contributions and marks in performing assigned duties and tasks.

The President pointed out that each comrade has a different field of work and training, but they all receive basic, systematic, and appropriate training and development for their positions, have been trained and matured through all levels, have seniority and extensive experience in operations, and have gone through practical leadership and management from the grassroots in many different positions from the central to local levels. Regardless of their positions, they have fulfilled their assigned tasks well, making an important contribution to the growth of the industry, locality, and the general activities of the Government.

The President assessed that Comrade Mai Van Chinh is an excellent cadre of the Party and State, trained and matured from the locality with many important contributions to the development and growth of the Party building and organization sector. Comrade Nguyen Chi Dung is an experienced leader in the economic field. During nearly two terms as Minister of Planning and Investment, he has made many contributions to advising the Party and State in the fields of macroeconomics and investment attraction.

Comrade Dao Ngoc Dung is a cadre who has held many different leadership positions at the local and central levels, growing from the grassroots in different positions and in the position of Minister of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, he has made many positive contributions to the common cause of the Party, State and people, especially in the field of social policy and social security. Comrade Nguyen Manh Hung is a well-trained cadre, with innovative thinking, vision, boldness, daring to think, daring to do. Comrade Tran Hong Minh has nearly 40 years of work experience, growing from the military environment, through many leadership and command positions at all levels, has successfully completed his tasks as Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee and as Minister of Transport since November 2024. Comrade Do Duc Duy has received basic training, growing from the construction industry; has been trained and tested locally.

In the context that our entire Party, people and army are uniting and making efforts to overcome all difficulties and challenges, striving to compete, focusing on developing all resources, and determined to bring the country into a new era - an era of striving for rich and prosperous development, the President affirmed that the Party, State and people are placing their trust and great expectations on the Government in performing its functions, tasks and powers to bring the country to rapid and sustainable development.

The President requested the newly appointed comrades to continue to train and improve their political qualities, be absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the People; maintain revolutionary qualities and ethics, be exemplary in complying with and strictly implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws. At the same time, they must constantly study and improve their capacity and qualifications in all aspects; uphold the spirit of self-criticism and criticism, solidarity, modesty, sincerity, and close attachment to comrades and the people.

The President noted that as senior officials of the Party and the State, you must be truly honest, impartial, and selfless, seriously performing your duties according to the Party's regulations and the powers under the Constitution and laws of the State; making effective contributions to the sectors and fields assigned to you. At the same time, together with the Government, actively remove difficulties and obstacles, resolve important and strategic issues, and practical requirements and demands of the cause of innovation, contributing to building an effective and professional administration that serves the people.

The President believes that the comrades appointed this time will continue to promote the glorious tradition of the Government; good achievements from the working process, excellently complete the newly assigned tasks, worthy of the trust of the Party, State and people.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the comrades who received the appointment decision, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized that this is a great honor, as well as a very heavy responsibility entrusted by the Party, State and people.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung promised to strictly comply with the Party's policies and guidelines, the State's laws and the Prime Minister's direction; at the same time, he vowed to devote all his efforts with a great aspiration and bright mind to, together with the Government under the leadership of the Prime Minister, make every effort to excellently fulfill the assigned tasks.

Comrade Nguyen Chi Dung also hopes that Party and State leaders will continue to pay attention, direct, support and create favorable conditions for the Government as well as newly appointed comrades in the process of performing their tasks.
