British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak visits Ukraine, military aid of nearly 60 million USD

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak visited Kiev on November 19 to confirm the UK's "continued support" for Ukraine in its war with Russia.

"Chancellor Rishi Sunak is in Ukraine on his first visit to Kiev to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and confirm the UK's continued support," the office of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said on November 19.

According to AFP news agency, present in Kiev, Prime Minister Sunak declared that Britain will stand with Kiev "until Ukraine wins".

"I am here today to say that the UK will continue to stand with you until Ukraine gets the peace and security it needs and deserves," Mr Sunak said at a press conference with President Zelensky in Kiev.

“And then we will stand with you as you rebuild your great country,” Mr Sunak added.

The British leader said the country would provide a £50 million ($59.4 million) air defense aid package to Ukraine, including anti-aircraft guns and technology to counter drones, according to Reuters news agency.

"We will provide new air defence systems, including anti-aircraft guns, radars and counter-drone equipment, and increase humanitarian support for the cold winter ahead," Mr Sunak said.

Before Mr. Sunak, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson visited Ukraine three times to show support for Kiev.
