"With the geographical characteristics of being narrow in the East-West direction but long in the South-North direction, the 1,541 km long North-South high-speed railway connecting the two centers at the two ends of the country will be the main artery in the traffic arteries of the whole country and is very necessary," said delegate Trieu The Hung.

Delegate Trieu The Hung said that it is time to have a large-scale, modern transportation model to overcome the difficulties in natural terrain conditions and the limitations of traditional transportation models and means.

At the same time, it is necessary to focus on exploiting tourism economy from landscapes and heritages along the length of the country that the railway passes through.

Regarding the choice of technology with a speed of 350 km/h according to the Government's proposal, delegate Trieu The Hung expressed his agreement and said that technology with this speed is advanced, suitable for the present time, the future and the economic context of our country.

Concerned about the investment capital of more than 67 billion USD, delegate Trieu The Hung said that many voters also expressed their concerns and suggested careful calculation and consideration, especially in the context of implementing many large projects such as Long Thanh airport, North-South expressway...

Delegate Trieu The Hung suggested calculating the priority level between projects to balance, have a suitable implementation roadmap, carefully evaluate and anticipate difficulties, especially in the context of the current volatile economic situation.

Regarding planning in localities where the North-South high-speed railway project passes through, delegate Trieu The Hung suggested that there should be a shortened process in planning adjustment, with connections between centers and locations.

At the same time, there needs to be a connection between this railway project and other models and means of transport to maximize efficiency, avoiding the shortcomings that some projects that have been and are being implemented are facing...
