With 8.3 million tourists in the first 6 months of the year, Thanh Hoa is one of the localities receiving the largest number of visitors in the country.
On June 19, news from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VH,TT,DL) of Thanh Hoa province said that in the first 6 months of 2023, the whole province is estimated to welcome more than 8.3 million tourists, an increase of 13% over the same period in 2022 and reaching 69.6% of the 2023 plan; total revenue from tourism is estimated at over 15 trillion VND, an increase of 16.7% over the same period in 2022 and reaching 63.2% of the 2023 plan.

Of which, Sam Son City alone welcomed more than 5.3 million visitors, with estimated revenue reaching more than 9,100 billion VND.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa, the above results were achieved because the locality proactively focused on promoting tourism linkage, promotion and advertising activities to localities and travel businesses nationwide; developing new tours and routes, and organizing many cultural, sports and tourism activities, attracting the attention of a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.
Since the beginning of 2023, many cultural, sports and tourism activities have taken place in Thanh Hoa. Among them, there are a series of activities to open Sam Son, Hai Tien (Hoang Hoa), Hai Hoa (Nghi Son town) beach tourism; promoting tourism connecting 4 districts including: Tho Xuan, Yen Dinh, Vinh Loc and Cam Thuy.

According to the plan, in 2023, the province will organize nearly 70 cultural, sports and tourism events. Along with that, Thanh Hoa province continues to innovate existing key tourism products and promote the diversification of tourism products, striving to complete the goal of welcoming 12 million visitors in 2023.
