In the first month of 2024, Vietnam welcomed over 1.5 million international visitors.

Of the more than 1.5 million international arrivals, arrivals by air reached nearly 1.3 million, accounting for 85.1%, up 60.9% over the same period last year. Arrivals by road accounted for 11.7%; by sea 3.2%. Revenue from accommodation and catering services in January 2024 is estimated at VND58.9 trillion, up 10.2% over the same period last year. According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism): Vietnam attended the ASEAN Tourism Forum - ATF 2024 from January 24 to 26 in Vientiane, Laos. At conferences within the framework of the Forum, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung and Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh updated information on the tourism recovery situation, new visa policies for international visitors, and unique and attractive products and services of our country.

Vietnam has proposed many initiatives to enhance cooperation within ASEAN as well as with partners and international organizations to facilitate travel and tourism between countries; promote ASEAN culture and tourism around the world, organize ASEAN festivals; and promote digital transformation.

Within the framework of the Forum, Vietnam attended the Travex Fair, the largest tourism fair in the ASEAN region. The Vietnam tourism booth chaired by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism promoted, advertised, and introduced the image of tourism, the country, people, and culture of Vietnam.

Thereby contributing to promoting and enhancing the Vietnamese tourism brand "Vietnam - Timeless Charm" with outstanding values, key tourism products, conveying the message that Vietnam is a safe, friendly and attractive destination to ASEAN and international friends.

Promotional content is selected to suit market trends in the new context; in particular, the promotion of National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024 is invested in innovation in content and presentation form. Participating in the booth are also localities including Dien Bien, Ninh Binh, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and some leading enterprises of our country.
