Against England, Spain welcomed back the starting lineup of defenders Robin Le Normand and Dani Carvajal after suspension. These were also the only two changes for La Roja compared to the semi-final victory over France. Spain's best players such as Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams, Rodri and Fabian Ruiz all started.

Meanwhile, England took to the field with a 3-4-2-1 formation. Notably, Luke Shaw made his first appearance in the starting lineup and replaced Kieran Trippier on the left wing. The Three Lions' central defenders are still Marc Guehi, John Stones, Kyle Walker. The central midfield pair is Declan Rice - Kobbie Mainoo, while the right wing belongs to Bukayo Saka. The two midfielders behind striker Harry Kane are still Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham as usual.

True to the nature of the final, the two teams played a rather slow game after the opening whistle. Over time, Spain gradually controlled the ball and pushed England deep into their own half. La Roja attacked a lot on the left flank, where Williams showed his speed and confident dribbling. On the opposite side, Yamal barely created much against the experienced Shaw.

The first half passed without any real chances from either team, with Foden's goal-scoring strike from the edge of the box in the first minute of stoppage time being the only highlight. However, things quickly turned around in the second half.

In the 47th minute, Yamal dribbled down the right wing, cut into the middle and then passed to Williams in the penalty area. Unmarked, Williams decisively finished with his left foot into the far corner of the English net, breaking the tie. This goal helped Spain get excited and they almost had a second goal in the 66th minute if goalkeeper Jordan Pickford had not made an excellent save after Yamal's kick.

At this point, manager Gareth Southgate was forced to make a change, and he brought on Ollie Watkins and Cole Palmer in turn. The result was not long after, when Palmer made a tricky left-footed finish from outside the box to beat Unai Simon to level the game. However, at a time when many were thinking about extra time, Spain spoke up.

In the 86th minute, Cucurellla crossed from the left wing and substitute Mikel Oyarzabal quickly came in and tapped the ball into the net, raising the score to 2-1 for Spain. There was no offside by Oyarzabal and the goal was awarded to La Roja. In the remaining time, England tried their best to attack but were powerless against a Spain that was too tight and experienced.

In the end, Spain defeated England 2-1 in the final to convincingly and deservedly win the EURO 2024 championship. This is the 4th time La Roja has won the European championship, thereby becoming the team with the most titles in history. As for England, they finished second once again and have yet to quench their 58-year thirst for a title.
