In the early morning of February 10, a large fire broke out at the 300-year-old Ve Pagoda in Tho Xuong Ward, Bac Giang City (Bac Giang Province), burning down the front hall and the back hall. The South Korean Army said on February 10 that its and the US militaries are conducting a large-scale joint live-fire exercise at the Rodriguez live-fire training ground in Pocheon, about 30 kilometers south of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) that divides the two Koreas. The exercise involves about 2,000 soldiers and more than 150 pieces of military equipment. About 160 people were trapped at two hotels in the Tsuchiyu Onsen hot spring resort in Fukushima Prefecture, southern Japan, after two avalanches hit early on Monday morning and blocked a nearby road. The first avalanche hit Tsuchiyu Onsen, a mountainous area southwest of Fukushima City, causing traffic chaos, local officials said.
