Sa Pa, Hallstatt of Austria, Giethoorn of the Netherlands are ranked in the top 50 most beautiful towns in the world by America's leading travel magazine.

The American travel magazine CnTraveller has just announced a list of the 50 most beautiful towns in the world, according to independent votes from travel experts. Sa Pa is the only representative of Vietnam.
With a population of more than 9,400, the popular resort town of Lao Cai is described as "a mountainous locality, bordering China, with mountains, terraced fields, many waterfalls and hiking trails".
To be included in the top 50, destinations must meet the criteria of being small towns or villages with a rich history, friendly people that make tourists interested, old hotels, cobblestone streets, colonial architecture, beautiful natural scenery. In addition, these places must have enough activities for visitors to experience, diverse terrain to suit tourism needs.
The world-famous ancient villages on this list include Hallstatt (Austria), Lauterbrunnen (Switzerland), Castle Combe (UK), Bled (Slovenia) or Giethoorn (Netherlands). Other towns in Asia include Ban Rak Thai (Thailand), Biei and Gokayama (Japan), Hatta (UAE), Itchan Kala (Uzbekistan), Luang Prabang (Laos), Mandawa (India), Penglipuran (Indonesia), Sai Kung (Hong Kong, China).
