This move was made because this type of business is operating in violation of regulations such as: not registering business, posting prices, accounting for income and expenditure, and paying taxes.

In addition, horse-drawn carriages are considered a potential traffic safety hazard, obstructing other vehicles and emitting foul odors.

According to the Economic Department of Da Lat City, around Xuan Huong Lake there are about 30 horse-drawn carriages operating spontaneously, with one representative. For each trip, the horse-drawn carriage owner collects a price agreed upon with the customer, from 80,000 to 100,000 VND per person.

Da Lat City People's Committee assigned the Urban Management Department to coordinate with relevant units to study the transfer of horse-drawn carriage activities to Tuyen Lam Lake, part of Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area.

After moving locations, households with horse-drawn carriages will operate under the cooperative or cooperative group model to ensure operations comply with regulations.

Xuan Huong Lake is 25 hectares wide, has water all year round, and is recognized as a national scenic spot. Seen from above, the lake looks like a crescent moon stretching over 2 km; surrounded by green pine forests, Cu hill, city flower gardens... This place is considered a highlight attracting tourists when coming to Da Lat. Horse-drawn carriages carrying tourists to the lake have been around for many years.
