On November 18, the Ministry of Finance announced that the balance of the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund (BOG Fund) by the end of the third quarter (ending September 30) was more than 824 billion VND.
The total deduction of the BOG Fund in the third quarter (from July 1 to September 30) was more than 502 billion VND, the total usage was nearly 803 billion VND.
In addition, interest arising on the positive BOG Fund balance in the third quarter was VND 1,844 billion; interest arising on the negative BOG Fund balance was VND 14 million.
Previously, the BOG Fund balance by the end of the second quarter (by June 30) was VND 1,122,920 billion; the BOG Fund balance by the end of the first quarter (by March 31) was VND 5,340,068 billion. The BOG Fund balance as of December 31, 2020 was VND 9,234,614 billion.
The Ministry of Finance said that the disclosure of information on the provision, use and interest arising on the balance of the BOG Fund in the third quarter is in accordance with the principle of transparency in managing gasoline prices as prescribed in Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on gasoline trading.
