Mong Cai City will build a Dao cultural village in Hai Son commune.
Quang Ninh selected 4 pilot ethnic minority villages: Dao village in Po Hen hamlet, Hai Son commune, Mong Cai city; Tay village in Ban Cau hamlet, Luc Hon commune, Binh Lieu district; San Diu village in Vong Tre hamlet, Binh Dan commune, Van Don district and San Chi village (a local group of San Chay ethnic group) in Luc Ngu hamlet, Huc Dong commune, Binh Lieu district. Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee requested localities with pilot ethnic minority villages to build and complete plans in July, as a basis for implementing the next steps.
Piloting the construction, preservation and promotion of cultural identity values of ethnic minority villages associated with the development of community tourism in mountainous areas, associated with the construction of model new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, especially promoting the self-awareness of ethnic minority communities in increasing income, reducing the gap between regions.
Ms. Pham Thi Oanh - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Mong Cai City said: "To seize this opportunity, Mong Cai City has proposed to restore the Dao Thanh Y ethnic village, Hai Son commune. According to the effort, on September 2, the Po Hen Hai Son market will be put into operation. All are inviting ethnic people to develop products and services. The city has allocated resources to the Hai Son area associated with promoting the national cultural identity, improving the lives of the people".
