Conductor Dong Quang Vinh and the new symphony orchestra performed for the first time in a unique cave space - Ngoc Rong Cave (Quang Ninh).
This art experience marks the second collaboration between Dong Quang Vinh - known as the "Music Ambassador of Vietnam" and APC Corporation (the operator of the leading luxury cruise chain in Ha Long Bay - Ambassador Cruise) to promote the destination and introduce new cultural tourism experiences in Quang Ninh province through music.
Right in the heart of a 150 million year old cave with majestic stalactites, conductor Dong Quang Vinh and the New Vitality Symphony Orchestra consisting of 30 musicians and 7 choir singers performed famous works:"Rice Drum","Oh Spring", “Vietnam Style”- creative version of the song“Gangnam Style”with content honoring the qualities of Vietnamese people.
“Bringing music, usually performed in theaters, to a unique space like Ngoc Rong Cave was a wonderful experience for me and the orchestra. Performing in a cave for the first time, we all felt excited and felt the deep connection between music and nature, between the majestic rocks and the echoes of sound,” said conductor Dong Quang Vinh.
Dong Quang Vinh grew up in a family with a rich artistic tradition. He was dubbed "Vietnam's Music Ambassador" by domestic and international media thanks to his efforts to promote folk music to friends around the world.
At the end of 2023, he brought the symphony orchestra to perform on the floating stage on the Ambassador cruise ship for the first time, bringing classical music to perform in an open space and connecting directly with the audience on the cruise ship.
Sharing about this cooperation, Mr. Nguyen Hong Nhat - General Director of APC Corporation said: “Collaborating with conductor Dong Quang Vinh and the Suc Song Moi Orchestra to record three symphony performances in Ngoc Rong Cave is our first test before officially introducing a completely new tourism product: Experiencing cuisine and art right in the heart of the cave. This tourism product will mark a new milestone of cultural tourism in Quang Ninh and Vietnam, turning the UNESCO world natural heritage into a grand stage honoring the beauty of nature, history, art and cuisine in an unprecedented way. We expect this to be a “cave restaurant” with the largest scale in Southeast Asia and the world”.
From April 2025, APC Corporation will officially launch a 2.5-hour culinary and entertainment experience in a cave that is expected to be the largest in the world, including lunch and dinner options in a space of up to 1,040 m2.2.
