Focus on training, fostering, and creating female staff resources

On the afternoon of October 19, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Committee for the Advancement of Women of Hai Duong province met with female leaders and managers at all levels on the occasion of Vietnamese Women's Day, October 20.

Comrades: Tran Duc Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, and leaders of the People's Council and People's Committee of Hai Duong province attended the meeting. Attending the meeting were more than 100 female leaders managing agencies and units under the province, key female leaders, Chairmen of the District Women's Union in the province.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Tran Duc Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, praised and acknowledged the important contributions of Hai Duong women in general and female cadres in particular to the overall development of the province in recent years.

Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang said that the province has set a goal of striving to become a modern industrial province by 2025, creating a foundation for Hai Duong to soon become a centrally-run city. This is a difficult and challenging political task, requiring high determination from the entire political system, promoting the strength of national solidarity, including the important and inseparable role of women, especially female leaders and managers at all levels.

Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang requested Party committees at all levels, authorities, departments, branches and organizations to continue raising awareness of gender equality and women's advancement; thoroughly grasp the viewpoints and goals of the Party and State on women's work in the new situation, considering women's work as the responsibility of the entire political system, the whole society and each family. Pay attention to training, fostering, creating sources of female cadres and introducing outstanding female masses to the Party; create opportunities for female cadres to participate in leadership bodies of the Party, authorities and organizations in the political system of Hai Duong province.

The competent authorities shall consider, research and advise the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and Provincial People's Committee to issue resolutions, projects and policies on training, fostering, using and developing female cadres. Special attention shall be paid to and specific policies shall be made in the arrangement of the organizational structure for female cadres and association cadres in units implementing the merger of commune-level administrative units.

Along with that, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang suggested that each woman herself needs to strive to rise up, eliminate the mindset of being content with her lot; and voluntarily practice the good moral qualities of a Hai Duong woman in the new era, which are "confidence, kindness, dynamism, creativity, and aspiration for development".

According to the report at the meeting, in recent years, Hai Duong province has always paid attention to building a team of female cadres. The team of female cadres in Hai Duong province has gradually developed in both quantity and quality and is increasingly younger. The proportion of women participating in Party committees and authorities at all levels in the province has increased compared to the previous term. The proportion of female leaders at the head and deputy head levels of departments and offices of public service units at the provincial level accounts for 20.45%, at the district level accounts for 35.17%. In the period of 2018-2023, the province has rotated, transferred and appointed 48 women out of a total of 395 cadres (reaching nearly 12.2%)...
