Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha receives new assignment

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed a decision approving the list of members of the National Committee on Aging in Vietnam.

Accordingly, the Chairman of the Vietnam National Committee on the Elderly is Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha. The Vice Chairmen of the Vietnam National Committee on the Elderly include: Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly. Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi, Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs is a Standing Member.

The Vietnam National Committee on Aging is an interdisciplinary organization whose function is to assist the Prime Minister in directing and coordinating activities to serve the care and promotion of the role of the elderly.

Previously, in January 2023, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed a decision on assigning tasks to Deputy Prime Ministers.

Accordingly, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha is assigned to monitor and direct the following areas of work: Education, training and vocational training; Science and technology; Labor, employment and social issues; Information and communication; Culture, tourism, physical education and sports; Health, population, family and children.

Duties: Chairman of the National Council for Education and Human Resources Development; Chairman of the Central Council for National Defense and Security Education; Chairman of the National Council for Sustainable Development and Competitiveness Improvement; Head of the State Steering Committee on Tourism; Head of the Central Inter-sectoral Steering Committee on Food Hygiene and Safety; Chairman of the National Committee for AIDS Prevention and Control and Prevention and Control of Drugs and Prostitution; Chairman of National Councils and Committees, Heads of other Steering Committees in related fields.

Directing the settlement of work related to industry, construction, transportation, natural resources and environment; climate change response strategy; national master plan, regional planning, provincial planning; energy assurance, energy saving and efficient use; national key projects; basic construction investment projects according to the decentralization of law and monitoring and directing: Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment during the absence of Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh.
