On the afternoon of August 6, according to information from Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Provincial Police) coordinated with Customs and Border Guard forces to successfully break up a transnational drug trafficking case with very sophisticated tricks; arrested 4 subjects, seized 34kg of crystal meth.

Specifically, through the work of grasping the situation and synchronously applying professional measures, at around 11:00 a.m. on August 2, at the Ngoc Lac District Bus Station, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Thanh Hoa Provincial Police) presided over and coordinated with the Provincial Police Mobile Police Department, the Customs Department, the Drug Prevention and Control Task Force (Provincial Border Guard) and the Police of Muong Lat and Ngoc Lac districts to arrest 3 subjects including: Sung Van Ho (born in 1997), Ho Van Gia (born in 2005), both residing in Com village, Pu Nhi commune, Muong Lat district, and Thao Chu Ly (born in 1996, residing in Pa Hoc village, Nhi Son commune, Muong Lat district, Thanh Hoa province) illegally transporting drugs.

At the scene, the authorities seized 32 nylon bags containing white crystals, weighing about 32kg. During the initial investigation, the suspects confessed that they were hired to transport crystal meth to Hanoi for sale.

Expanding the case, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Provincial Police) arrested and urgently searched the residence of Nguyen Tinh (born in 1986, residing in Phu Tuc commune, Chau Thanh district, Ben Tre province) while the subject was staying in an apartment building in Vinh Tuy ward (Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi city). Here, the police force seized an additional 2kg of drugs.

The subjects frequently changed transaction locations in mountainous areas with rugged terrain, causing many difficulties in the fight and solving of cases. Nguyen Tinh was the subject who connected and transacted with subjects across the border, then directed Sung Van Ho, Ho Van Gia, Thao Chu Ly to transport drugs to Hanoi to be sold in the northern provinces.

The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Provincial Police) has decided to temporarily detain Sung Van Ho, Ho Van Gia, Thao Chu Ly, and Nguyen Tinh for investigation and to coordinate with functional units to continue to fight and expand the case.
