The founder of the Green electric taxi company SM withdrew VF 8 from its service fleet to ensure VinFast's positioning as a high-end car line.
The billionaire's spokesperson said that withdrawing the VF 8 from the service fleet from December 19 is the next step, as the company has helped users access high-end electric vehicles through the Green SM Luxury service. "VinFast VF 8 will return to its core positioning, targeting high-end users," said Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong's spokesperson.
Accordingly, the entire fleet of VF 8 cars of Xanh SM will be transferred to FGF - a company operating in the field of buying, selling and renting VinFast electric cars, to provide car rental services for individuals, businesses or retail to the market for those in need. This process will take place from now until February 2025.
Previously, VinFast VF 8 was the car model used for Xanh SM's high-end taxi service in Vietnam. In the coming time, Xanh SM taxi will provide 3 main transportation services by electric car including: Economy - economical with Mini Green car line; Standard - standard with 4-seat Hero Green car line and Premium - high-end with Neo Green car line and 7-seat Limo Green car line. GSM drivers using VF 8 will be arranged to use VinFast VF 5 or VF e34.
In VinFast's current product line, the VF 8 is the second high-end model after the VF 9, which launched an upgraded version in July. The electric car has an additional two-tone paint option, integrated with the Vivi 2.0 system with AI virtual assistant. The car is equipped with 2 electric motors located on the front and rear axles with a capacity of 350 horsepower and an operating range of 471 km per full charge. Meanwhile, the Lux Plus version has a capacity of 402 horsepower and an operating range of 457 km per full charge.
VinFast sells VF 8 in two versions, 8S Lux and Lux Plus, starting at 1.17 billion and 1.359 billion VND respectively, excluding the battery. If the battery is included, the price increases by 210 million VND.
